Outcomes and costs among seniors requiring hospitalization for community-acquired pneumonia in Alberta

Article Abstract:

A study to analyze the outcomes and costs of hospitalization for the treatment of community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) among seniors is given. The study reveals that CAP in seniors was a common cause for hospitalization in Alberta and the anticipated increased demand for hospital resources may have been partially avoided because of the limitation in therapy provided.
