Temporal discounting in choice between delayed rewards: the role of age and income

Article Abstract:

Adults of different ages but with similar income levels show a similar decrease in the subjective value of monetary rewards with an increase in the time of receipt (temporal discounting). Adults of the same age but with different income levels discount the delayed rewards at different rates. Older adults with lower income show greater temporal discounting than those with a high income. There are no age-related differences in the temporal discounting by upper income groups. Spontaneity in decision making decreases rapidly during young adulthood, stabilizing by 30 years of age.

There are currently two live cultures, in the US and and in Russia. Those for its destruction see the benefit of the end of smallpox-induced virulence, but those against believe that scientific information about it may not be complete.
