Urinary incontinence and its association with death, nursing home admission, and functional decline

Article Abstract:

The presence of urinary incontinence (UI) as a marker of frailty and a predictor of adverse outcomes in older people is determined. The results suggest that although UI appears to be a marker of frailty, it is not strong independent factor for death, nursing home admission, or functional decline.

Functional impairment, race, and family expectations of death

Article Abstract:

A study investigating the death anticipation levels of physically immobile adults by family members, is presented. The influence of race on the attitude of family members is analyzed.
