Applying Baumrind's parenting typology to high schools: Toward a middle-range theory of authoritative socialization

Article Abstract:

A middle-range theory of socialization style is supported by applying Baumrind's typology of parenting, such as authoritative, authoritarian, permissive and indifferent, to high schools as socializing agents. The findings indicate that the authoritative style produces the best results on child behavioral outcomes while the indifferent style the worst results.

Non-English language neighborhoods in Chicago, Illinois: 2000

Article Abstract:

The spatial patterns and characteristics of non-English language neighborhoods in Chicago are studied with the help of data from the U.S. 2000 census. Results concluded that they exist in suburbs, centrals and their linguistic, demographic and socioeconomic characteristic varies.

The effect of military service during the all volunteer era (AVF) that has an impact on the earnings of men is examined. It was seen that young men from disadvantaged backgrounds while servicing in the military earned more than civilians.
