Beyond cultural sensitivity: universal issues in caregiving

Article Abstract:

The results of studies suggested the importance of the practitioners that goes beyond the stereotypes to understand the concrete daily experience of caregivers and elders of minority ethnocultural origin. It further provides an insight gainful in enabling the practitioners to better appreciate the nature of the client's relations with different sources of help.

Family caregiver self-identification: implications for healthcare and social service professionals

A program that recognizes the problems of caregivers and reaches to them, whether self-identified or not, are described. A study conducted by American Association of Retired Persons focuses on the benefits of self-identification for family caregivers defining themselves.

Sensory loss, dementia, and environments

Article Abstract:

The effect of the environment on sensory loss and dementia and the relation between the two conditions is focused. The key environmental elements that encourage healthy interaction between people, objects and spaces, are discussed.
