Manufacturing technology centers as components of regional technology infrastructures

Article Abstract:

Manufacturing modernization programs can help boost the strength of small and medium-sized manufacturing companies, according to adequate company-specific accounts. Furthermore, these programs hold significant possibilities. Manufacturing technology facilities, in terms of stipulated program evaluations and as parts of a place's technology framework, should be studied more closely.

Testing the spatial mismatch hypothesis using inter-city variations in industrial composition

Article Abstract:

The paper tests the spatial mismatch hypothesis of inter-city variations in industrial composition to instrument of job centralization, as it raises black employment rates relative to whites, with the greatest effects being visible in large MAs, young and old workers, women and those without college education. Job centralization is responsible for raising wage levels in the city.
