Measuring association populations using the encyclopedia of associations: Evidence from the field of labor unions

Article Abstract:

A section of the Encyclopedia of Associations (EA), labor unions is assessed to compare it to the population of national labor unions identified by the US Department of labor. It is indicated that EA in its overall coverage is complete and is universal in its coverage of unions, above even quite modest thresholds of organizational size and resources.

Late or later? A sibling analysis of the effect of maternal age on children's schooling

Article Abstract:

The effect of maternal age is examined by analyzing the consequences of differences in maternal ages within families in a multilevel sibling design. Moreover, the influence of maternal age on children's completed level of education are analyzed by using the data that were collected in the Netherlands.

From here to there: methods of allocating data between census geography and socially meaningful areas

Article Abstract:

The accuracy of the four interpolation methods used by researchers for other types of incongruent geography is studied. Results concluded that when source units are smaller than the target units, much more accurate results are obtained.
