Measuring marital assimilation: intermarriage among natives and immigrants

Article Abstract:

This article discusses a study conducted to determine intermarriage patterns by comparing racial and nativity combinations. The authors maintain that immigrants tend to marry same-race immigrants rather than same-race citizens, Latinos are more likely to marry whites, with Asian Americans and African Americans following, and immigrants are more likely to marry same-race citizens over another racial group.
