Post-1982 effects of neoliberalism on Latin American development and poverty: two conflicting views

Article Abstract:

Latin America opted to adapt neoliberalism as the solution to the economic debt crisis in 1982. However, issues on whether this step was beneficial or detrimental is criticized by two authors having conflicting views, namely, Sebastian Edwards, and Duncan Green. The former believes that neoliberalism proved ro be beneficial in terms on opening up free markets and inducing economic growth while the latter emphasized that the labor sector is being devastated by this so called solution to the economic crisis.

Disparities between Arabs and Jews in school resources and student achievement in Israel

Article Abstract:

Israel's resource allocation increase to institutions schooling Arab children is beginning to close the educational gap between Arab and Jewish students. The increase, launched in 1991, addresses three variables crucial to student performance. These are per-student expenditures, per-student hours of instruction, and the number of certified teachers.
