Role stressors, social support, and well-being among two-career couples

Article Abstract:

A study to determine the relationship between stressors in work and the home and their interaction with life satisfaction was conducted on 119 dual career couples. Results indicate that work stressors affected job satisfaction and family stressors affected family satisfaction in a negative way. Social support from each spouse contributed to greater satisfaction in both work and the home if the support originates from related domains.

Article Abstract:

In a study of the impact of work and family role characteristics on work-family conflict, self-employed persons were found to enjoy more autonomy, schedule flexibility at work, higher levels of job involvement and job satisfaction than those employed in organizations. However, alongside these, they also experienced higher levels of work-family conflict and lower family satisfaction than organization employees.
