Technology integration: managing technological evolution in a complex environment

Article Abstract:

The impact of discontinuous technological change on product development is studied. Results show that product development performance is affected by the technology integration process. High performance can be achieved by integrating new technologies with existing ones. Successful organizations also utilize a system-focused approach characterized by project specification, concept development and the participation individuals experienced in production introduction.

The hypercube of innovation

Article Abstract:

Many aspects of a technological innovation are usually neglected during its development. These pertain to the high-technology product's effects at the manufacturer, customer and vendor levels. To better understand their impact, a hypercube of innovation model is developed and used to study the innovation value-added chain for complex instruction set computers, reduced instruction set computers and supercomputers.

From technological potential to product performance: an empirical analysis

The development of effective organizational capabilities is the key towards transformation of a technological potential into a quality organizational product. Companies engaged in activities that take into consideration disciplines and system knowledge tend to have effective technological yield. Such activities include the proactive development of knowledge base and implementing them into new projects.
