The contours and consequences of compassion at work

Article Abstract:

The different factors that trigger compassion among employees and the various types of responses to a co-worker's suffering are investigated. Findings showed that compassion is present among a wide range of employees, and that experienced compassion is related to affective commitment and positive emotion. The impacts of compassion at the workplace are also evaluated.
