The importance of narratives in stroke rehabilitation

A research focused on the assessment of functional activity, specifically how functional ability is assessed for stroke survivors, is presented. Main focus is made on the relationship between a scientifically constructed world and the everyday experiences of the people.

Medical narratives: diagnosis goes low tech

Article Abstract:

The need for teaching doctors to pay close attention to their patients, to understanding their emotions, is discussed. A basic teaching method for doctors, which deals the interaction with patients in a most traditional way, is proposed.

The features of a narration according to its performance details are presented. A narrative is a story, told, written or danced and there is always a relationship of some kind between the performing person and the narrative.
