Young vets in focus: Somalia vet becomes a country music star

Article Abstract:

Keni Thomas, an Army Sergeant from Columbus is an upcoming country music star with a band named 'Cornbread' and he released his first CD which has a collection of patriotic songs inspired by his military service and it is dedicated to US troops and their families. The proceeds from the sales of the album will go to the Hero Fund which donates the money entirely to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, a group that pays education expenses for the children of special operation soldiers killed in training or combat.

VFW in Germany supports war wounded

Article Abstract:

Members of Post 10614 in Kaiserslautern, Rheinland-Pfalz region are helping recovering war-injured in the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Rheinland-Pfalz by visiting them, showing support, distributing Operation Uplink phone cards, toiletries, clothes, CDs and snacks. As a result of $25,000 National Military Assistance Program donation made to the Chaplain's Funds, the Post members are able to material and give moral support to the war veterans.

Article Abstract:

The wounded and the survivors of the havoc that took place at the 'marketplace' of Vietnam were provided help in all ways and young veterans who fought for the rescue were given more attention. Oscar Canon, a young coast coordinator for 'operation first response', though himself injured severely came forward to the help of the other injured.
