AIDS, sexuality and African American adolescent females

Article Abstract:

A group project designed to educate African American female adolescents about sexuality in an urban school setting was described. The goal of the project was to impart knowledge, change risky behaviors and give psychological support to the adolescents. What do teenagers want? What do teenagers need?

Article Abstract:

Teenagers undergo a lot of difficulties which they feel adults are either unable or unwilling to help them with. This was gleaned from a study of more than 3,700 teenagers from urban and suburban areas as well as small cities. Findings stress the need for family members and helping professionals to band together and reach out to teenagers, providing them with understanding and assistance.
