Approach/avoidance-related motor actions and the processing of affective stimuli: Incongruency effects in automatic attention allocation

Article Abstract:

Two experiments are investigated to influence the approach / avoidance-related motor actions on attention allocation to effective stimuli. The results proved that the effects were generally stronger for positive as compared to negative stimuli along with discussing functional and theoretical implications.

Cognitive consistency and the formation of interpersonal attitudes: Cognitive balance affects the encoding of the social information

Article Abstract:

The main goal of the study was to investigate the underlying process of how cognitive balance affects the formations of interpersonal attitudes. The overall results revealed that cognitive balance influences the encoding of social information rather than the retroactive construal of evaluative judgments.

On the propositional nature of cognitive consistency: dissonance changes explicit, but not implicit attitudes

Article Abstract:

The influence of cognitive dissonance on explicit and implicit attitudes was investigated with the help of two studies. A more detailed analysis was provided regarding propositional thinking and associative process.
