A multiethnic, multireligious society's fragility

Article Abstract:

Cardinal Vinko Puljic expresses his thoughts on Bosnia's present condition. He claims that his greatest challenge as a Bishop is to preserve in people their faith and hope during their country's misery. The war had made them realize that a multiethnic and multireligious society should be valued and protected. Furthermore, Puljic extends his gratitude to the US for the continuous support it has been providing towards Bosnia's creation of a social order.

The polls - trends: immigrants and immigration

Article Abstract:

The marked growth in the number of immigrants annually in the US since the 1980s was accompanied by a sharp growth in anti-immigrant feelings of Americans. The negative attitudes are partly due to reductions in social budgets. Some immigration trends in California are discussed.
