Elder abuse

Article Abstract:

The demographic data for the incidence of domestic violence on the elderly are increasing. The frequent perpetrators are those who are known to the victim and the type of abuse often inflicted include physical, financial, psychological and emotional abuse. There are numerous service systems addressing the issue of elder abuse. However, they are faced with different issues affecting the delivery of care. Several models with specific goals were designed to aid the different systems in effectively caring for the victims.

Mountain biking

Article Abstract:

The Red Kite Mountain Bike Centre offers one means of enjoying the excellent mountain biking terrain in the Cambrian mountains of Wales. The centre, which is based at a hotel in Llanwrtyd Wells, charges 71 pounds sterling for a weekend's stay. This includes accommodation, all meals and guided rides, but bike hire is extra. The uphill stretches can be quite taxing on the leg muscles and participants could spend some time building up their stamina prior to the tougher guided rides. Guides will provide skills training.

From a strategic viewpoint, ImClone is smart to hold on as long as it could to its position as licensee and co-inventor of the '866 patent which enabled the firm to secure the billion dollar deal with Bristol Myers Squibb.
