Particularly noteworth housing and community developments are described, focusing on special features, financing and costs, and names of architects, contractors and developers. Developments include the three-acre Parc Ridge apartment complex in Los Angeles, CA, on a former earthquake site, which has market-priced and affordable housing; and the Vista Verde apartments in San Diego, CA.

Public housing can be aesthetically pleasing as well as functional. Recent public housing developments that are well designed are described. They include units in San Jose, California; Lexington, Kentucky; Prince Georges County, Maryland; Rosemount, Minnesota; and Charlotte, North Carolina.
