Has-beens: Trends of downward mobility of the Russian elite

Article Abstract:

The relations between society and the elite, the processes of stratification and the spread of political culture in Russia are examined by studying the methods and mechanisms of removal from the elite. Complete excorporation or forced excorporation and partial excorporation or loss of just a portion of the political capital of the person excorporated are the two forms of excorporation used for removing a person from the elite society.

Russian suicides and Russian reforms

Article Abstract:

Russia was ranked second in the mid-1990's in the world table of rankings of suicide. As alcohol was detected in the blood samples of almost 60 percent of those who committed suicide, it is clear that suicide can be provoked by an ordinary 'drinking' binge.
