Interdisciplinary practice: the legal perspective

Article Abstract:

Multidisciplinary law firms that offer other services other than the practice of law must operate carefully to avoid violating ethics regulations imposed by the state bar. The model regulations of the American Bar Association restrict the outside business practices of lawyers. A proposal to modify these rules on multidisciplinary practice was defeated.

'...Take Peggy out of my will....'(elder law practice)(Elder Law and Elder Care)

Article Abstract:

A lawyer recounts two incidents of elderly women and their wills. In one case, the woman wanted to cut out the daughter who fled from a younger sister with cancer, the lawyer convinced her otherwise, and reconciliation happened. In the other case, a women kept an estranged daughter in her will.

Grandparent caregivers: emerging issues in elder law and social work practice

Article Abstract:

A new aspect of elder law is helping grandparents who are the guardians of their grandchildren. The legal status of grandparents as caretakers is discussed as are the services offered by the Grandparent Caregiver Law Center.
