Mere acceptance produces apparent attitude in the Implicit Association test

Article Abstract:

A study is conducted to test the notion that the categorization process alone produces an Implicit Association Test (IAT) effect by comparing the accepted and rejected stimuli that had equal affective valence. The experiments revealed that 'accept stimuli' responded faster than the 'reject stimuli', which is a typical IAT effect to imply that the stimuli presented on accept trials were preferred.
