Motivational profiles of polysubstance-dependent patients: Do they differ from alcohol-dependent patients?
Article Abstract:
A study aimed to determine whether polysubstance-dependent and alcohol-dependent patients similar with regard to their motivational patterns, sufficient to develop a global classification system. The construct validity of motivational profiles for polysubstance-dependent patients was also investigated. Similar University of Rhode Island Change Assessment Scale (URICA) profiles could be identified although there were significant motivational pattern differences, suggesting that cluster-analytically-derived classifications based on combined polysubstance/alcohol dependent populations may not lead to classifications in accordance with separate cluster analyses.

Psychophysiological reactivity to alcohol advertising in light and moderate social drinkers
Article Abstract:
Psychophysiological responses of moderate and light social drinkers to alcohol advertisements were assessed by measuring skin conductance. The light drinkers had low heart rates and skin conductance for both alcoholic and non-alcoholics advertisements. Alcoholics had increased skin conductance during both. This study raises questions about cue reactivity.
