Perceptions of punishment and rehabilitation among inmates in a medium security prison: "a consumers' report"

Article Abstract:

This article compares inmate perceptions of punishment in a medium security prison with the rehabilitation goals of the prison. The authors maintain inmate perceptions are independent of one another but are defined by different types of inmate relationships and the physical environment of the prison, arguing prisons should keep the perception of punishment high to prevent recidivism.
