Postmodernism

Article Abstract:

The role of the poststructural theory among US feminists is discussed. There is tough opposition between academic and political feminists due to their repudiation of the authority relegating women to an inferior position. Feminist social scientists and feminist literary critics are divided over the issue of disciplinary knowledge. The former is merely aware of male dominance in the social sciences while the latter translates significant ideas into more relevant notions such as identity and experience.
