Predicting alcohol and drug abuse in Persian Gulf War veterans: What role do PTSD symptoms play?

Article Abstract:

A prospective longitudinal examination of symptoms of drug and alcohol use and PTSD symptoms in 1006 veterans in 6 years (T3) following return from the Persian Gulf War is examined. It was observed that both alcohol and drug use at T3 were significantly correlated with demographic variables and all three types of PTSD symptoms as measured at T2.

Comparison of drug use and psychiatric morbidity between prostitute and non-prostitute female drug users in Glasgow, Scotland

Article Abstract:

Psychiatric morbidity between female drug users with lifetime involvement in prostitution (prostitutes) and with no involvement (non-prostitutes) in Glasgow, Scotland is compared. Higher rate of adulthood abuse among prostitutes explain the greater proportion of prostitutes meeting criteria for current depressive ideas.
