Recognition and respect revisited: Portrayals of age and gender in prime-time television

Article Abstract:

The recognition and respect afforded characters in varying demographic groups is examined analyzing prime-time programs from the 2002-2003. The results indicate that prime-time television continues to overrepresent characters in midlife and dramatically underrepresent those aged 60 and older.
