Professional profile
Article Abstract:
The new National Assn of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (NAHRO) Pres Deborah M. Erlanson has consistently demonstrated her commitment to the field of housing and community development. She is a 22-year veteran of the housing and community development area and has always attended forums tackling issues relevant to the field. She believes that the NAHRO should concentrate on its professional development role, primarily on education, which she says can encourage administrators to embrace innovative ways of thinking that emphasize an analytical approach. Erlanson has high hopes for the NAHRO Strategic Plan, which promotes education, advocacy and innovation through the eight strategic areas of customer service, professional development and education, advocacy, housing and community development policy, membership, image and marketing, productivity and technology, and financial viability.
