In the year 2003, more than 2300 fires torched three quarter of a million acres-nearly 20 percent of the total burned by wildfires across the US. It is reported that though the smoke jumpers are getting the glory for winning over, the actual people working behind it are the wildfire simulation brigade.

The efforts of the energy utility Wind Energy Systems Technology to redesign unused oil equipment, to establish a wind farm in the areas close to the Gulf of Mexico, are described. The proposal to supply clean energy from this wind farm, to the surrounding areas, is discussed.
