The Chicago School in retrospect and prospect

The author critiques theoretical and methodological developments in geography during the 1960s, when he himself was a prominent contributor to the development of urban geography as a distinct discipline within the field. He praises the sound scientific foundation for the developments, as well as the balances that are developing between empirical and speculative investigation.
