Article Abstract:

Issues related to the social structure of Russian society in the aftermath of the disintegration of the USSR are examined. Topics include the influence of globalization, the social classes to which people identify themselves as belonging, social sense of well-being, and the conflicts arising from material inequality.

Public opinion in Russia are more likely to reflect, the prompted illusions and disappointments linked to events and characters rather than any assessment of real acts making it necessary to determine what is meant under today conditions and in today's public opinion by "politics" or "political activity".
