The other "subsidized housing": federal aid to suburbanization

Article Abstract:

A detailed analysis is presented on the emergence of American suburbia during the mid-1900s, focusing on the socioeconomic factors that shaped their development. These include government financial incentives, specifically those through the mortgage programs offered by the Veterans Administration and Federal Housing Administration, and their emphasis on creating homogenous communities based on race and class, rather than providing assistance to minorities and lower-income families, which would create diverse communities.
