The spiritual competence scale: A new instrument for assessing spiritual competence at the programmatic level

Article Abstract:

A new measure is developed for assessing cultural competence among one family of cultural groups, where it measures respondents' perceptions of spiritual competence at the programmatic level. The results have suggested that the scale is a valid and reliable measure of the values dimension of spiritual competence and with some modification, this instrument can be used in agency settings and perhaps for individual self-assessment as well.

The results have shown that practitioners adhering to Division 12 criteria have little basis for using intercessory prayer, in spite of a meta-analysis indicating small effect sizes for the use of intercessory prayer.
