The state of the profession

Article Abstract:

The legitimacy of social work as a profession is discussed. The author argues that social workers must stop discussing the professional state of social work and focus on playing a significant role in social policy change, and maintains professional recognition must come with appropriate salaries, working conditions, and social influence.

This article discusses ethical aspects of social work. The author argues that with the increased growth of social work schools clients are not being given proper information and maintains clients must be involved as informed participants.
