Using social-psychology models to understand farmers' conservation behaviour

Article Abstract:

The authors researched farmers' attitudes and what motivated their conservation-related behavior in Bedfordshire, UK. Results indicate that farmers involved in the Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group and who are environmentally aware are influenced more by conservation issues than farm management issues in relationship to other farmers.

Strong policy or weak policy? the environmental impact of the 1992 reforms to the CAP arable regime in Great Britain

Article Abstract:

The author discusses the negative environmental impact on British agriculture of the 1992 reforms to the European Union's Common Agricultural Policy. Policy reforms which accounts for market forces and farmer behavior are proposed.
