Alcohol and college athletes

Article Abstract:

This article examines the prevalence of binge drinking and alcohol-related problems in college athletes. Results of a national survey indicate that college athletes report heavier alcohol use, more frequent binge drinking, and higher levels of associated problems despite greater levels of exposure to alcohol prevention programs.

Considering body mass differences, who are world's strongest women?

Article Abstract:

Research was conducted to evaluate allometric and second order polynomial modeling of women's powerlifting records to asses the techniques and to determine the strongest body mass-adjusted woman. The study reveals that the latter technique is more appropriate for the population tested.

Monitoring strength training: neuromuscular and hormonal profile

Article Abstract:

Results show that strength training may induce different responses on neuromuscular behaviour and hormonal system activity. Data also indicate that an adequate level of testosterone may influence neuromuscular efficiency.
