A study helps in assessing the existence of depressive symptoms and difficulty with pain in most of the retired professional football players, as they have problems in transforming from the active athletic competition to retirement. The depression, in addition to the pain leads to difficulties with sleep, social relationships and problems with exercise and fitness among such people and hence should be reduced by providing them with adequate assistance by different recommended programs.

High REE in sumo wrestlers attributed to large organ-tissue mass

Article Abstract:

The effects of organ-tissue mass of fat-free mass (FFM) components on the resting energy expenditure (REE) for sumo wrestlers with large FFM and REE are analyzed. The research demonstrates that the elevation of the organ-tissue metabolic rate, as well as the large absolute amount of low and high metabolically active tissue like skeletal muscle, liver and kidney are the major factors contributing to the high REE in sumo wrestlers.
