Different centre of pressure patterns within the golf stroke I: Cluster analysis

Article Abstract:

The different weight transfer styles present in the golf swing are determined by applying cluster analysis to centre of pressure (CP) patterns in the direction of hit (Cpy). The cluster analysis has included hierarchical and non-hierarchical clustering and has used objective measures combined with theoretical assessment in order to determine the optimal number of clusters.

Different centre of pressure patterns within the golf stroke II: Group-based analysis

Article Abstract:

The relationship between centre of pressure measures and club head velocity within the 'Front Foot' and 'Reverse' styles are evaluated. The group-based analysis has highlighted the importance of identifying different movement strategies before evaluating performance measures, as different parameters are important for the Front Foot and Reverse styles.

The measurement of upper body alignment during the golf drive

Article Abstract:

The measurement of upper body alignments by using markers attached to the thorax and markers on the acromion process during the golf drive is presented. The results have indicated that the thorax vector has provided an accurate estimation of thorax alignment at all stages of the golf swing.
