Effects of exercise combined with diet therapy on protein utilization in obese children

Article Abstract:

Exercise appears to offer metabolic benefits for obese children during diet-induced weight loss, but longitudinal studies are needed to look at long-term health outcomes associated with protein utilization. A study evaluating changes in protein utilization as a response to sequential addition of an exercise program to diet therapy has been carried out in obese children. Metabolic reactions involving protein are energy-dependent and might by adversely affected by therapy that limits calories.

Exercise training with HIV-1-infected individuals with dyslipidemia and lipodystrophy

Article Abstract:

The hypothesis that aerobic exercise training would improve the lipid profile, functional capacity and body composition without comprising the immune system is tested. It is concluded that HIV-1-seropositive individuals with lipodystrophy and dyslipidemia submitted to short-term intervention of dietary recommendation and aerobic exercise training are able to increase their functional capacity without any consistent changes in plasma lipid levels.

Exercise training attenuates septic responses in conscious rats

Article Abstract:

The effects of exercise training on the changes induced by endotoxin in arterial blood pressure, blood cells, biochemical factors and pathology of the heart, liver and lung in conscious rats are examined. The experiments prove that the exercise training soothes the septic responses in conscious rats and protect organs from damage in sepsis.
