Effects of acute versus chronic L-carnitine L-tartrate supplementation on metabolic responses to steady state exercise in males and females

Article Abstract:

Acute and chronic doses of L-Carnitine L-Tartrate (LCLT) supplements were administered to healthy individuals, to compare the impact of the supplements on metabolic reactions. Overall results suggested that carbohydrate oxidation (CHO) increases in males during activity with chronic LCLT, but not so in females.
