Generation of reactive oxygen species after exhaustive aerobic and isometric exercise

Article Abstract:

This article examines the biochemical factors involved in oxidative stress due to intense aerobic and isometric exercise. Post-exercise blood analyses indicate that protein carbonyls, total antioxidants, and lipid hydroperoxides associated with oxidative stress increased after exhaustive sessions of aerobic and isometric exercise.

Redox regulation of skeletal muscle glucose transport

Article Abstract:

This article examines the effects of oxidation-reduction reactions on the regulation on glucose transport and carbohydrate metabolism in skeletal muscle. Research indicates that reactive nitrogen and oxygen species induce an increase in glucose transport and carbohydrate metabolism in response to stimuli like moderate exercise.
