High drama: Eddie Lawson goes out in style with a storybook ending at the Daytona 200

Article Abstract:

The 1993 Daytona 2000 motorcycle race was won by Eddie Lawson, who came out of retirement to ride the entry of the Vance and Hines Yamaha team. Lawson beat number two finisher Scott Russell of the Muzzy Kawasaki team by 0.051 seconds in an exciting race.

Miguel Duhamel won the 600 cc Supersport and the Superbike 200 mile events at the 1999 Daytona race using a Honda RC45 motorcycle. Mat Mladin finished second in the second event aboard a Suzuki GSX-R 750 motorbike.

A Daytona to remember: Kawasaki and Ducati show their superbike superiority

Article Abstract:

Scott Russell won the 1992 Daytona 200 motorcycle race riding a Kawasaki superbike. Doug Polen placed second. This was the first victory at the Daytona 200 for a Kawasaki motorcycle.
