Inosine supplementation has no effect on aerobic or anaerobic cycling performance

Article Abstract:

Issues concerning inosine as an ergogenic aid and its effect on aerobic and anaerobic exercise are discussed. A group of 7 trained men participated in this study, which also tested the blood for uric acid before and after supplementation. It was concluded that Inosine had no ergogenic effects but might have health problems if taken over long periods of time.

Effects of [beta]-hydroxy-[beta]-methylbutyrate on aerobic-performance components and body composition in college students

Article Abstract:

An investigation was done on active college students to find the impact of oral [beta]-hydroxy-[beta]-methylbutyrate (HMB) supplementation on selected parts of aerobic performance and body composition. The study highlighted the advantages of HMB supplementation on chosen parts of aerobic performance in active college students.

Cardiovascular fitness and vascular inflammatory markers after acute aerobic exercise

Article Abstract:

The inflammatory response to a single aerobic-exercise session between individuals of a high and moderate fitness is compared. It is suggested that markers of inflammation are stable in the days after a single session of moderate-intensity aerobic exercise in apparently healthy men of at least average fitness.
