Medial tibial stress syndrome

Article Abstract:

Medial tibial stress syndrome is discussed with consideration of history and terminology for shin soreness, the most confusing of the multiple terms for those with diffuse exertional medial tibia pain being 'shin splints.' A better term is 'medial tibial stress syndrome' (MTSS). Topics include epidemiology, etiology, biomechanics, presentation, physical examination, imaging and treatment.
