Nutrition knowledge, opinions, and practices of coaches and athletic trainers at a Division I university

Article Abstract:

This article evaluates the nutritional knowledge and counseling practices of collegiate coaches and athletic professionals. Findings indicate that the majority of coaches and trainers are knowledgeable about nutritional issues, that most athletes are provided with nutritional supplements, and that many athletic professionals utilize a dietitian when making nutritional recommendations to athletes.

Knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors regarding hydration and fluid replacement of collegiate athletes

Article Abstract:

A survey was conducted to determine the knowledge, attitude, and behavior regarding hydration and fluid replacement of athletes at a Division I National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) institution. The significant and positive correlations observed between knowledge, attitude, and behavior scores, although weak, indicate that an increase in knowledge can improve attitudes and behaviors.

Effects of muscle glycogen on performance of repeated sprints and mechanisms of fatigue

Article Abstract:

The effect of initial muscle glycogen on performance of repeated sprints and some potential mechanisms for an effect of glycogen on fatigue is discussed. The possibility of glycogen depletion during this exercise is revealed.
