Perfect position

Article Abstract:

Ball position is the most crucial element in developing an effective short game. Since the shots are short in the short game, the effects of a mishit ball become exaggerated, thus place a premium on proper ball position. Tips for positioning the ball for putting, pitching and chipping are presented.

The 1995 Ryder Cup tournament provided three key moments that can clearly illustrate the importance of the short game as it is played at the top levels. In each of the three key moments there are ideal examples of short-game technique that can be adopted by the average golfer.
