Article Abstract:

Ten steps on how to make a total and positive recovery from a swimming injury are presented. These include tolerating and dealing with the injury, setting new and realistic goals for success, practicing patience, adopting a healthy, positive attitude and listening to expert advice. To recover from an injury faster, it would also help to keep one's perspective, adjust one's training, become conscientious about one's physical therapy and mingle with friends. However, the best way to recover is to adopt the right attitude by understanding the role of swimming in one's life.

Take a sea cruise

Article Abstract:

Swimmers should shift to open-water swimming to escape the monotony and comfort of pools. However, open-water swimming entails a new set of challenge which requires swimmers to be in the right state of mind. The techniques in the mental preparation for open-water swimming are presented. Among these are approaching the water with an open mind, facing the fear of open water, adapting to the new environment and breaking the swim into smaller distances.

Don't hold back

Article Abstract:

Self assessment serves as an initial step in eliminating fear of success. Assessing one's self enables individuals to be aware not only of their strengths, but also of their weaknesses that need to be modified. Confronting one's fear also helps in eliminating fear of success. Swimmers who are afraid of going to the distance can overcome such fear by practicing on time and by establishing a commitment to finish every set.
