Prevalence of headaches in football players

Article Abstract:

This article examines the prevalence of headaches related to head trauma in football players. Eighty-five percent of players surveyed indicated that they had experienced trauma-related headaches, twenty-seven percent had experienced a concussion, and less than a quarter of respondents had reported their symptoms to a team physician or coach.

Exercise-induced bronchospasm prevalence in collegiate cross-country runners

Article Abstract:

Results show that at least 14% of the collegiate cross-country runners, who are not on medication, suffer from exercise-induced bronchospasm. Data point out that the incidence rate is high enough to suggest that a significant number of runners will develop bronchospasm under intense exercise program.

Psychological issues related to injury in athletes and the team physician: A consensus statement

Article Abstract:

Psychological factors are shown to be an important antecedent to the onset of athletic injuries and play an important role in injury rehabilitation and successful return-to-play. So team physicians must consider psychological and physical factors while treating and coordinating care for injured athletes.
