Relationships of activity and sugar drink intake on fat mass development in youths

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to examine whether significant relationships exists between fat mass development and physical activity and/or sugar-sweetened drink consumption in healthy boys and girls between the ages of 8 to 19 years. When controlling for maturation, fat-free mass, and energy intake adjusted for sugar-sweetened drink, physical activity level was negatively related to fat mass development in males but not in females.
