Menopause, physical activity, and body composition/fat distribution in midlife women

Article Abstract:

A study is conducted to examine cross-sectional relations of body composition and fat distribution with age, menopausal status, and physical activity in a representative sample of midlife white and Chinese women. The findings suggest that regular physical activity might help to mitigate the tendency for weight gain and adverse changes in body composition and fat distribution that accompany aging and the menopausal transition.
